With the seasons changing it is important to keep a constant look out for ice. Just today the Deseret News reported 6 accidents on a 3 mile stretch within 3 hours of each other. Salt Lake County Sherriff Lt. Jason says, “The problem is the weather, people are just driving too fast and can’t see icy patches.”

The best way to treat an injury is to keep it from happening. So, we have 10 Safety tips we would like to offer to help keep you safe.

1.  Check to make sure that you have adequate snow traction

2. Replace windshield wiper blades if necessary

3. Run the air conditioner to remove condensation and frost from window

4. Check your lights

5. Learn how to most effectively use your brakes before an emergency

6. Watch carefully for black ice

7. Remember the tough spots so you can change your course if necessary

8. If a slick section in a turn causes your front tires to lose grip don’t keep turning the wheel

9. Make sure that your back tires have as much tread as your front tires

10. All wheel drive and electronic stability control can get you into trouble by offering a false sense of security. Don’t let these trick you into overestimating the available traction.
