Does My Insurance Pay For My Chiropractic Care After A Utah Accident?

If you have just been in an automobile accident, you are most likely experiencing back pain. However you might not be sure if your insurance will cover your Chiropractic care. The answer is yes, in most cases it does. Allow us to explain to you how this works.

Personal Injury Protection is required in Utah. The coverage cannot be rejected. the following are the requirements for coverage.

  1. $3,000 for reasonable and necessary medical expenses;
  2. The lesser of $250 per week or 85% of any loss of gross income and loss of earning capacity per person for a maximum of 52 weeks. The wage loss need not be paid for the first three days of disability unless the disability continues for longer than two consecutive weeks;
  3. Household services are to be paid in an amount not exeeding $20.00 per day for a maximum of 365 days. The benefit need not be paid for the first three days of disability unless the disabilitycontinues for longer than two consecutive weeks. The insured is entitled to to reimbursement for services actually rendered or reasonably incurred that, but for the injury, the injured person would have performed.
  4. Funeral benefits not to exceed $1,500 per person and;
  5. Death benefits payable to the heirs int he amount of $3,000.

There is no deductible for PIP coverage.  PIP may also cover attorney’s fees if the insured brings an action to enforce payment.
