To Whom It May Concern:

Nate Miller, D.C. and I recently had the privilege of going to West Africa on a medical/humanitarian mission. We were asked by America helps to supervise the medical division. Our group went for 10 days over the Thanksgiving weekend and delivered literally tons of educational supplies and hygiene kits as well as needed medical care.

While I addressed the primary care needs, Dr. Miller was diagnosing and treating low back, neck and muscle dysfunction. The people of Ghana lined up by the hundreds each day to to receive a needed treatment from him. One of the leaders from of America helps referred to him as the “key player” and continually pointed out how grateful they were that he volunteered to go.

As physicians we are often times faced with patients’ complaints of persistent back pain, headache, and chronic pain following a motor vehicle accident. I watched Dr. Miller render care in a compassionate, kind and highly competent manner, it was a privilege to be with him. He truly cares about people, and is able to relieve to pain in a very effective manner.

I highly recommend Dr. Miller. Please consider referring your patients that suffer from these complaints to him, thank you.

Sincerely,

Brett Horsley, D.O

Why go to a chiropractor with a licensed massage therapist?

Posted by Dr. Nate Miller on Sep 05 2008 | Chiropractic Care

You might ask yourself why you should choose a chiropractic office with a massage therapist. There is a very simple reason why massage therapy is a significant addition to chiropractic treatments. Massage therapy focuses on soft tissue healing. Meaning the muscles, tendons, and ligaments found around your spine. The benefits of massages are crucial with the relaxation of soft tissues that attach to bones. When you release the muscle tension you will allow for greater and higher quality of movement of bones in tune with the muscles around it.

When the bones have a higher ability to get motion, it allows a chiropractic adjustment to become smoother, to last longer, and to have an overall higher degree of benefit. When there is a chiropractic adjustment without a massage, the muscles remain tight and it becomes more difficult to move the vertebrae back into position. This means that more force and pressure needs to be applied and your adjustment may not reach as deep or adjust as far as it needs to. If this is the case you may need to increase your number of visits to the chiropractor.

That is why here at Spinal Rehab on North County in Pleasant Grove, UT we always have a licensed massage therapist on site. We are committed to your complete and total rehabilitation. We want to make sure that your visits to us are relaxing, pain relieving, and beneficial to your health in the future. Call us today to request more information on how we can help relieve your pain.

What Are The Benefits Of Chiropractic Care After An Auto Accident?

Posted by Dr. Nate Miller on Sep 03 2008 | Chiropractic Care

Many people think that it is unnecessary to see a Chiropractor after and auto accident. What people don’t know is that not seeing a chiropractor after an auto accident could be one of your biggest mistakes.

The spine is a stack of bones separated by discs and surrounded by muscles. Lets say that you are carrying a stack of plates when all of a sudden you get bumped into by another person. You manage to hold on to all the plates without dropping any however they are no longer stacked as neatly as before they are now unaligned. Those plates are like your spine, after a car accident.

Most people will think that they are just fine after the accident but research shows the people will most likely begin to feel symptoms after a few days. Feeling pain this is a very good indicator that something in your spine has moved.

Although the pain being felt could be a sprain or strain, it could be more severe such as a dislocated disk. Whatever the case may be, Here at Spinal Rehab of North County in Pleasant Grove, UT we can help. Contact us to make an appointment and let us relieve your pain.

What are the most common causes of back pain?

Posted by Dr. Nate Miller on Aug 29 2008 | Chiropractic Care

Back pain is a common discomfort among us all. Statistics show that four out of five adults will have back pain at some point in their life. The back is a very complex part of our body and therefore, many structures can cause discomfort if they are injured or affected.

The most common cause of back pain is due to strains and sprains. This can happen when an unexpected twist or pull is applied on the back. This will create tears in the muscle and causing what is called muscular strain. Muscular strain is usually accompanied by pain, swelling, and muscle spasm. A sprain is something that can also accompany a strain and this is caused when a ligament is present after severe falls or motor vehicle accidents. We here at our convinient Pleasent Grove, UT chiropractic clinic can help.
